Lisbon stormed into the bullpen and looked around to find Jane, but, unfortunately he was no where to be found, as usual when she actually wanted to talk to him. She tried to reach his cell phone but it went straight to voice mail. She glared angrily at her unfortunate cell phone, and Van Pelt, Cho and Rigsby eyed each other warily, wondering what Jane had done this time.
Meanwhile, Jane was downstairs entertaining the guards. They listened in awe as he proceeded to tell the head security guard's life story, including every divorce, the one affair and the fact that he was bullied at school. The head guard was flushed a bright red in embarrassment at Jane's rendition of his life.
Soon enough, Lisbon found where Jane was entertaining people by the large crowd of CBI staff grouped together with their jaws on the floor. "Ok, playtime's over guys. Get back to work." she said while she grabbed Jane and tried to drag him back to the bullpen.
"Ow. Lisbon save the rough stuff for the bedroom." remarked Jane as he was dragged by his dark-haired verbal sparring partner. There was muffled laughter from their 'audience' and Lisbon tried to hide her scarlet blush, as Jane grinned in triumph. He loved being able to make his boss's cheeks turn red.
As Lisbon led the way towards the bullpen, she was wondering if she should say something about the inappropriateness of her consultant's comment or if she'd better let it slide.
"How many times do I have to remind you about keeping our relationship out of the office?" she snaps at him, poking his chest for emphasis.
"I don't know... how many times have you told me not to hypnotize witnesses, antagonize suspects and piss off your boss?" He grinned at her, thinking about how much he had enjoyed doing all of these things during their last case.
"You'd think you'd start to listen to me by now; any more of this nonsense and there will be no relationship, inside or outside of the office."
"We both know that's not true," He replied smugly, leaning very close to her face so that his warm breath tickled her lips as he spoke.
Lisbon looked up at him, unimpressed, before rolling her eyes. "How exactly your ego fits through doors I'll never know."
"Oh, it's really quite simple," he replied, "I just turn it sideways. Works like a charm."
"Huh, is that so?" she raised her brows and he nodded to his word, following her into her stuffy office then closing the door behind him.
Lisbon sat down behind a desk picking up a piece of paper from the pile next to her, ignoring the look of utter boredom on Jane's face. An unwelcome memory of a paper frog jumping at her from her desk came flashing through her mind just as Jane uttered a single word that made her jump.
